If there’s one piece of clothing that screams the holiday season more than anything else, I’d argue that it’s a pair of sequin pants (or anything with sequins, really.) They’re so festive and fun to incorporate into your outfits during this time of year, whether you’re heading to a party or meeting a friend for a cocktail.
Because sequins aren’t necessarily something you’d wear year-round (although you certainly could!), it can seem a little intimidating to put together an outfit with them. The good news is that wearing sequins is really quite simple—almost anything looks chic in combo with them.
I recently bought a pair of black sequin pants and thought they’d be the perfect piece to style in this post for you. Below, I’m sharing a roundup of what to wear with sequin pants.
What to Wear with Sequin Pants
How to Style Sequin Pants
A Strapless Feather Top + Sequin Pants
In addition to shimmery sequins, feathers are another holiday staple worth adding to your wardrobe this time of year. There’s something about a feather top that makes me feel so girly and dressed up—and I love that feeling.
For a look that’s equally as feminine as it is festive, pair a feather top with sequin pants. I’d go with wide leg pants and some simple black heels. You could always wear heels with feather accents too!
A White Button-Down + Sequin Pants
If wearing sequin pants is already a bold move for you, you might be more keen on styling them with something plain. If that’s the case, I’d suggest a white button-down top (which you can rewear with so many other things.)
Also, don’t be afraid to mix metallic colors when adding shoes or accessories—doing so can add depth and visual interest to your look. Plus, this is the season to test out more playful looks so be sure to lean into that!
A Sequin Jacket + Tank + Pants
How adorable would the feather top I shared above look underneath this pretty jacket? Another idea would be to wear a solid black cami underneath it for a more simple look. Just slip into a pair of black sequin pants and add some heels and you’ll be holiday party ready.
Another idea is to opt for sequin leggings so you can wear tall boots—a good go-to if the weather is cold.
p.s. I love an all-black look (and an all-white look) but if you want to add some color variation to this outfit, you could always incorporate a fun bag, like this gold find.
A White Sweater + Sequin Pants
Another sequin outfit idea that leans more on the neutral side: A white sweater with sparkly silver pants. I love how this outfit gives off a snowy winter vibe. This look would go perfectly with these pretty heels and some silver jewelry.
A Sequin Button-Down + Matching Skirt
Last but not least, I couldn’t finish this post without including one solid sequin skirt outfit. I love how this matching set showcases many different shades on blue depending on how the light hits it. I also like that you can wear both the top and the skirt separately to get more looks out of each piece.
If you want to add even more character to this look, I’d opt for fun shoes, like these western inspired booties.
