The Best Summer Travel Dresses for Your Next Trip

summer travel dresses

With summer officially in full swing, I know that a lot of you will be traveling with your family or heading on quick weekend getaways. One thing that I prioritize when planning for a trip is that I feel ready to go as soon as my plane arrives. There’s something so convenient and reassuring about knowing that you’re prepped for the day (or night) as soon as you get to your destination.

Whether you’re heading straight from the airport to lunch or you have a long day of layovers, these summer travel dresses make for the perfect outfit choice. They’re comfortable, easy to layer, and will help you feel more put together than your regular old sweatpants. Plus, they’re all lightweight and can be easily packed for your return flight.

Here are a handful of summer travel dresses that I personally own or have been eyeing for the season ahead. Happy shopping!

Black Traveler Mini Dress

This particular dress from Abercrombie is soooo popular, and if you haven’t tried it for yourself yet, this is your sign to. It’s super comfortable and looks so cute with a jean jacket and some white sneakers.

I love that the black dress above goes with everything, but if you’re looking for something that makes more of a statement, opt for this indigo version.

Darcy Midi Dress

If you choose just one travel dress to add to your wardrobe, this midi pick should be at the top of your list. It would look adorable with a long cardigan and some simple sandals—ideal for a beach vacation!

Sleeveless Babydoll Midi Dress

There’s no denying that Anthropologie makes some of the most stunning dresses, and this one is no exception. The length of this midi dress makes it a strong choice for air travel (midi dresses in general are practical since they offer good coverage). Wear sandals or sneakers while you’re at the airport then swap them out for heels when you land.

I plan on living in this printed shirt dress all summer—whether I’m at the airport or not. It’s definitely a statement piece to add to your wardrobe, and I was drawn to the gorgeous pattern.

Muscle V Neck Dress

A classic muscle t-shirt should be a staple in every closet, and the same rings true for a muscle v-neck dress. This one is casual enough to wear on a long-haul flight yet stylish enough to flaunt at brunch.
