Celebrating Disney’s 100th Anniversary in Disneyland

Last month, we got to take the kids on a trip to SoCal to visit Disneyland for the 100th anniversary and it was an absolute blast! I am such a kid at heart so I’m honestly not sure who had more fun on this trip, me or the kids. Either way, it was an absolute dream!

Our first day was pretty mellow. We decided to fly into Long Beach, which I highly recommend flying into instead of LAX. It’s so much easier and is a much nicer, smaller airport. It was also very easy to get a rental car right on property. We then immediately took the kids to Winchell’s Donut House. They had never been and it’s hands down one of my favorite donut shops to go to in SoCal! After a quick bite, we made it to our hotel, Sheraton Park Hotel in Anaheim! This was our second time staying here. It’s definitely the best bang for your buck without being a total budget hotel. It’s also recently been renovated. It was so nice and is even within a decent walking distance to the Parks.

The next day was California Adventure day!! I was so ready and brought as many of my Disney clothes as possible including a few of my minnie ears. After all, what is a disney trip without wearing minnie ears!! Our first ride of the day was Soarin’ and, per usual, my sweet Maddie got a bloody nose. She’s such a trooper though!! Just shoved a piece of tissue up her nose and kept trucking along!

Once it got dark, we stopped by Beast’s Library inside the Hollywood Studios area. I love coming here at night to just relax. It’s so quiet around then. After a quick rally, we watched the updated World of Color for the 100th Celebration!! Oh my goodness, it was so good!! It was so cool to see they added some Star Wars. I was so enthralled the entire time watching it! 10/10! Definitely the perfect way to end the night.

Our next day was our Disneyland day!! I was so glad we split the two parks into one day each. I personally feel like you definitely need a full day for each to really enjoy everything each park has to offer. With my Better Days Caffeinated Greens (discount code RACHMOON)  in my system and my minnie ears on, we headed out for the day.

Once we entered the park, we took a stroll down Main Street and, of course, grabbed a couple souvenirs. Pro tip: you can actually have your park purchases held at the stroller shop at the front of the park. That way you don’t have to carry everything you’ve bought with you throughout the day! Such a massive help! No surprise, I bought myself a new pair of minnie ears first thing!! They were the 100th anniversary Snow White ears so I had to add them to my collection.

Our first ride of the day was Pirates of the Caribbean, which, in my opinion, is far superior to Walt Disney World’s!! Afterwards, we stopped to grab the quintessential Dole Whip. I mean, were you even in Disneyland if you don’t get a dole whip?! Afterwards, we hit up as many rides as possible. My sweet husband was on lightning lane duty so we could get as much packed into our day as possible. It was such a big help!

After hustling around the park, we took a break at the perfect time to grab a corn dog, and sit to watch the Magic Happens parade. You guys!! This parade is without a doubt one of the best parades I’ve seen there since I was little! I loved all the classic characters they had that you hardly get to see in the parks anymore! While on Main Street, we hopped into the Pandora shop to add some of the 100th anniversary charms to my collection! I am absolutely in love with these charms and love how they serve as little memories to our trips.

We popped over to the updated Toon Town to ride the new Mickey’s Runaway Railway that they added recently, did some pin trading along the way, and then decided to end our day in Galaxy’s Edge! I loved ending the night there! I feel like most people go to that section first thing in the morning so by the time we went it was so much more relaxed. Plus, you get to see it all lit up at night, which is way cooler in my opinion!

I absolutely loved this trip! It felt so special to see all the new things they added for the 100th anniversary and getting to enjoy it all with my family made it that much more special! I already can’t wait to go back!!
